Bandwidth

Bandwidth refers to the maximum amount of data that can be transmitted over a network connection in a given period, usually measured in bits per second (bps), kilobits (Kbps), megabits (Mbps), or gigabits per second (Gbps). It determines how much information can flow between devices or over the internet at any given time.
High bandwidth allows for faster data transfer, smoother streaming, quicker downloads, and better performance for multiple users accessing the same network. Low bandwidth can lead to slow internet speeds, buffering in videos, and delays in data transfer.
Bandwidth is commonly used in home and business internet connections, cloud services, and data centers. It is different from network speed, which refers to how fast data travels, whereas bandwidth indicates how much data can be sent or received at once.
Increasing bandwidth improves network efficiency, supports multiple devices, and enhances the performance of applications such as video conferencing, online gaming, and large file transfers. Internet service providers often advertise bandwidth as part of their plans, indicating the maximum data transfer rate available to users.
